Larry Lee Moore, 81, of Green Ridge, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born on January 12, 1944, in Eldon, MO, the son of Lloyd W. Moore and Eileen Marie (Kidwell) Moore, who preceded him in death.
On February 11, 1977, in Smithton, MO, he was united in marriage to Janice K. Carver, who resides in the home.
Larry was a proud graduate of Smithton High School, Class of 1962. He worked for Reno Construction in Kansas City, MO. Later, he worked as a mechanic for T.H. Gibson Implement Dealership in Sedalia. In 1980, he opened his own Agri-repair shop. He retired in 1990 and began back-grounding cattle. In 2019, he retired from cattle and devoted his time to training his Border Collies to do a sheepdog competitions.
Larry enjoyed the quiet life and cherished his time outside. Whether he was walking the land, fishing at his favorite spot, riding off-road, or cruising on his motorcycle, he was happiest when he was free to explore and enjoy the world in his own way.
He'll be remembered for his love of animals, his independent spirit, and the way he found joy in the simple things.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by three daughters, Carmen Moore-Waschak (John) of Jefferson City, MO, Candy Horn (John) of Holt Summit, MO, and Colette Moore (Larry Bock) of Lake Ozark, MO; a sister, Sharon LaHue (John) of Berryville, AR; a granddaughter, Emma Horn of Springfield, MO; a nephew, Justin LaHue; and a niece, Michelle LaHue.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Candace Fowler officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Honorary bearers will be Stanley Deuschle, Steve Deuschle, Brian Schwartz, and Anthony Schwartz.
Memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter in honor of Larry's lifelong love for dogs and animals.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
