Lawrence H. Weathers

Lawrence H. Weathers Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1942, in Sedalia, MO, and was raised in the Hughesville/Sedalia area. Lawrence resided in Demotte, IN.

His loving wife, Janet S. (Greer) Weathers, was born on May 4, 1943, in Sedalia, MO, and was also raised in the Sedalia/Hughesville area.

She resided in California, MO, when she passed away on December 24, 2020, at the age of 77.

Lawrence and Janet were preceded in death by many loved ones.

They are survived by their children, Michele (Dale) Bliss, Lawrence (Tamara) Weathers Jr., and Christopher (Penny) Weathers; grandchildren, Nicole Williams, Sara Bliss, Christopher (Britney) Weathers, Justin Weathers, Hayley (Damian) Hunt, Mirisa (Joseph) Maziarz, and Autumn Pleasant; great-grandchildren, Javen, Lylyan, Ryleigh, Olivia, Abel, Aubree, Elijah, Aria, Micaiah, Lydia, Luna, and Ember; Lawrence's brother, Eugene (Donna) Weathers and Janet's sisters, JoAnn Gardner and June Mettenburg.

Lawrence was a dedicated union laborer for over 40 years, a proud member of labor local #81 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Janet, on the other hand, ran the cafeteria at Calumet National Bank in Hammond, Indiana, for over a decade, and then served as a bookkeeper at Peterson Pontiac in Valparaiso, Indiana, for 15 years.

Lawrence and Janet shared many hobbies - Lawrence had a passion for woodworking, while Janet enjoyed any floral crafts. They both cherished spending time with family and friends, tending to their flowerbeds, going on antique shopping trips, and during their time in Florida, they loved nothing more than a day at the beach.

A double memorial service for Lawrence and Janet will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.

The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will follow the service at Mt. Herman Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
