Obituary For Lee Garner Weir

Lee Garner Weir, 88, of Sedalia, MO passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 2, 1932 in Sedalia, the son of Herbert Bell Weir and Alma Amelia (Kurtz) Weir, who preceded him in death.

On November 25, 1954 in Sedalia, MO he was united in marriage to Patricia L. Richards, who resides in the home.

Lee served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as an over the road trucker for Quinn's Concrete in Marshall, MO for 28 years, retiring in 2002. Lee enjoyed playing golf, training bird dogs for field trials, hunting quail, riding motorcycles, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Rusty Weir of Sedalia, Karen Weir of La Monte, MO, Ronda Barklage (Mark) of Lee's Summit, MO, and Britt Weir (Caroline) of Blue Springs, MO; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Weir; and a sister, Ila Smith.

A casual dress Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 (Noon) on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Inurnment with full military honors conduct by U.S. Navy honors team and Sedalia VFW Post #2591 will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.

Honorary bearers will be grandchildren, Richard Maltsbarger, Robert Maltsbarger, Ryland Maltsbarger, Britt Lee Weir, Scott A. Weir, Corey Weir, Adwina Weir, and Chelsea Heath.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
