LeRoy Eugene Hill, 59, of Sedalia, MO passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on September 28, 1961, in Sedalia, MO the son of Donald L. Hill (Janice) who reside in Green Ridge, MO, and Myra L. (Jenkins) Hill George, who resides in Sedalia.
On August 8, 1980, in Ft. Polk, LA he was united in marriage to Vicky J. Welch, who resides in the home.
LeRoy was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia where he served faithfully for 20 years. In his early years, he was a Heavy Equipment Operator, and most recently he worked for Pittsburgh Corning. LeRoy served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1979 to 1983. LeRoy was a family man and loved spending time with them. He had a gift for generously helping people and knew no stranger. LeRoy enjoyed spending time in God's Word daily, fishing, riding motorcycles, working on cars, woodworking, and especially loved going on scenic sunset drives with the love of his life.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Nunes (Virgil) of Florence, MO and Melanie Kamery (Joshua) of Sedalia, MO; two sons, Shane Hill of Sedalia, MO, and Jonathan Hill (Cheyenne) of Sedalia, MO; nine grandbabies, Isaiah, Nathan, and Josiah Nunes, Helena, Addison, Joshua, Torrianne, and Briella Kamery, and Seamus Hill; three sisters, Pamela Park (Todd) of Salt Lake City, UT, Nancy Hill-Day-Slebos (Ryan) of Olathe, KS, and Jennifer Wiseman of Sedalia; a brother, David Hill of Clinton, MO; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special aunt and uncle Bob and Beth Jenkins.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Duane Duchesne officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO with full military honors conducted by the United States Army and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.
Pallbearers will be Shane Hill, Jonathan Hill, Virgil Nunes, Joshua Kamery, Isaiah Nunes, and Rock Curry.
Honorary bearers will be Ron Arnold and David Derden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
