Linda Sue Boe

January 27, 1945 — June 5, 2025

Linda Sue (née Lee) Boe, 80, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at her daughter's home in Jefferson City, MO. She was born on January 27, 1945, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Elroy "Lee Barron" and Bernice Lucille (née Dragge-Barholz) Lee and was the youngest of four children. Her father, Elroy, was a well-known Big Band orchestra leader, author, radio personality, and occasional TV show host (see his entry on Wikipedia). She grew up between Omaha and her beloved teenage years in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, later returning to Omaha to finish high school. While raising five children, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of earning her degree in elementary education, graduating cum laude before eventually retiring from Farmers Insurance in the state of Washington.

Linda was active in her churches in Everett, WA, Sedalia, MO, and various community organizations, including Church Women United and Child Safe, and she assisted in organizing events to raise awareness for human trafficking. She adored children, especially her grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately called "Granny." She loved knitting, crocheting, and reading and was an avid pro and college football fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elroy and Bernice Lee, and her three siblings, with whom she was very close: Vernon Lee, Judi Buehrer, and Patricia O'Brien.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Andrea) Boe, Keith Boe, Sarah (Ray) Lichtenauer, John Boe, and Andrew (Angela) Boe; grandchildren, Ellie (Daniel) Brower, Mick (Falyn) Boe, Seth Boe, Emma Boe, Eden Boe, Sarah Josephine Lichtenauer, Taylor Lee, Kathryn Boe, Grace Boe and Sophia Boe; and great-grandchildren Rowen Boe and Alora Schneurle.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Christ & Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA), Sedalia, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia, Missouri.

She was truly a bright and joyful presence to all who knew and adored her. "What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." - Pericles

Greatly missed - but what an example she left us of sweet, gentle, empathetic kindness to live up to.

"See, I am sending an Angel ahead of you, to guard you along the way and bring you to the place I have prepared." - Exodus 23:20
