Obituary For Linda June Sawford

Linda June Sawford, 72, of Smithton, MO, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on July 1, 1951, in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Harold Leon Clark and Betty Jo (Cornine) Clark, who preceded her in death.

On September 19, 1971, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Stanley Gene Sawford, who resides in the home.

Linda was a 1969 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She worked at Consumers Grocery in the cafe where she met Stanley, the love of her life, for 52 years. Linda later worked at Third National Bank as a teller and retired as a Security Officer after 23 years. She became an ordained pastor in 2007. She was a very active member of the Worship House Church. Linda served as the Chaplin for Bothwell Regional Health Center for three years.

Linda enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, quilting, and reading. She was a pet lover. Linda rescued many dogs from the animal shelter. Linda especially loved her family and her church family.

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by two children, Bridget Meyer (Zane) of Otterville and Heath Sawford (Mary) of Smithton; thirteen grandchildren, Lauren (McKenzie), Weston, Megan, Cody, Savannah (Brandon), Isiah, Macie, Austyn, Caydin, Samantha, Angelina, Corinthea, and Oriana; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary Clark (Cindy) of Hughesville, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dutch Boer officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the chapel service.

The family will hold a private burial at Smithton Cemetery.

Honorary bearers will be Carol Rugan, Diana Guidry, Ann Fray, Sharon Sawford, Donna Sawford, Joyce Sawford, and Cindy Clark.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
