Obituary For Linda Sue Saylor

Linda Sue Saylor, 79, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on February 5, 1944, in Paris, TX, the daughter of Russell C Craig and Katherine (Baird) Craig, who preceded her in death.

On November 19, 1982, in Longview, TX, she was united in marriage to Willard Saylor, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2004.

Linda went to school and has lived in and around the Sedalia, MO, area for most of her life. She did relocate to Longview, TX, for a few years but found her way back to Sedalia, where she once again made her home. Linda spent many years as a Dietician designing, planning, and scheduling meals for Nursing Home facilities in Central Missouri. Her years before retirement were spent meal planning in Tipton, MO, where she retired from Tipton Manor.

Linda was the oldest of 11 children. She was passionate about crafting. She experienced every corner of crafting throughout her lifetime. From ceramics, macramé, and scrapbooking to picking wild mustard plants, along with a few other select "weeds," and would spray paint them into a beautiful bouquet. More often than not, she could be found enjoying her crafts with any one or all of her five sisters. Her most favorite pastime was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, plus she shares her heart with many nieces and nephews, along with their children.

Linda is survived by four children, Anna R. "Shelley" Lowry of Sedalia, Craig R. Guffin (Sue) of Sedalia, Marala Helms of Sedalia, and Bryon Guffin (April) of Dresden; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Kendra, Kendall, Andy, Kyle, Mattie, and Carlie; twelve great-grandchildren; five sisters, Jeanie Langston of Sedalia, Nancy Dieckhaus (Mark) of Kansas City, Debbie Eppes of Sedalia, Pamela Ollison of Lee's Summit, and Becky Nace (David) of Kansas City; five brothers, Gaylon Craig of Sedalia, Kent Craig (Lisa) of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Michael Craig of Breckenridge, CO, Jeff Craig (Nancy) of Republic, MO, and Barry Craig (LaCrissa) of Jefferson City; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cannon Cancer Center in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
