Obituary For Lisa Kay Swords

Lisa Kay Swords, 68, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born on July 31, 1955, in Bourne, MA, the daughter of Clarence Ray "Sonny" Broyles and Marylu Logan, who preceded her in death.

On December 31, 1992, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Patrick Swords, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2013.

Lisa graduated from State Fair Community College with an RN degree. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Western Missouri Medical Center, Warrensburg, and several other locations throughout central Missouri.

Lisa enjoyed traveling with her late spouse, Patrick, to anywhere with a white sandy beach. She loved getting her hair and nails done. Lisa enjoyed watching Food Network and trying out new cuisines. She was always keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. Lisa was an animal enthusiast. She helped with animal transporting for various animal rescue organizations. She owned many cats and dogs throughout the years. Lisa was very proud of her twin grandchildren. She loved sharing photos and telling stories about them to anyone who would listen.

Survivors include a son, Ned Lindstrom, III, and his wife Brittainy of Mora, MO; a half-sister, Lori Proctor (Chad) of Sedalia; two half-brothers, Sonny Broyles (Lori) of Sedalia, and Brian Broyles (Jerrie) of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Tate and Tessa Lindstrom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lisa was preceded in death by a son, Scott Christopher Allen.

A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, 3510 W. 16th St., Sedalia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
