Maria "Mary" De Jesus Galvan-Rizo

Maria "Mary" De Jesus Galvan-Rizo, 75, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Friday August 12, 2022, at her home. She was born on August 21, 1946, in Arandas Jalisco, Mexico the daughter of Rafael Galvan and Maria (Rizo) Galvan, who preceded her in death.

Mary moved from Mexico to the Los Angeles, CA, at the age of 18 where she live for 42 years. While in California, she worked as a seamstress. She moved to Sedalia in 2006 and started working at Bothwell Regional Health Center until she retired in 2021. Mary became a United States citizen in 2016. She enjoyed gardening, going on walks with her dogs, going on road trips with family, taking care of her dogs, and especially loved spending time with her children.

Survivors include two children Mary Issitt (Branden) of Fairfield, CA and Steven Nunez of Sedalia; a granddaughter, Nina Schmidt; two sisters, Carmen Galvan of Los Angeles, CA and Teresa Galvan, of Jalisco, Mexico; three brothers, Salvador Galvan, of Jalisco, Mexico, Rafael Galvan, of Los Angeles, CA, and Luis Galvan, of El Paso, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Jeff Stegner officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
