Mark Edward Reynolds, 65, of La Monte, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was born on October 4, 1957, to Harold and Alice (Smart) Reynolds in Clinton, MO.
They moved to Concordia when he was in elementary school and where he later met the love of his life, Carol. They married in 1988 and never looked back. When it was snowy he drove her to work, hardly ever spent a night away from one another and ate lunch together for the past 23 years, and if for some reason they couldn’t they always called and talked.
Mark’s proudest accomplishment was his three children, Denise, Seth and Jessica. That is until his grandchildren came along. He loved his family immensely and would do anything for any of them. Even at the end he was still looking out for them and reminding them of things that would need to be done and planning for the future.
Mark took after his father by farming and selling feed for MoorMan's Feed. He then became a real estate agent in 1999, and opened his own office with 3 others, in 2006. He was always thinking of how to put a real estate deal together and would routinely wake up at night doing just that. He took pride in knowing that people would come back to him time and again to buy and sell and word of mouth got him most of his business.
Putting deals together didn’t stop at real estate. Any given weekend there was a good chance you could find him at an auction buying anything “too good of a deal to pass up”. Anything was fair game, especially farm equipment. John Deere tractors and Ford trucks were his specialty/weakness. He could fix just about anything and if he couldn’t fix it he would tinker until he could. He passed this love of auctions and knowledge of machinery onto his son, who has followed in his footsteps.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Gary.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; children, Denise Reynolds of Houstonia, Seth Reynolds (Jordan) of Hughesville, Jessica Stratton (Chris) of Sweet Springs; sister Monda Reynolds of Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Amenia, Rayden, Cooper and Annalee. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
