Martha Sue Dhority-Petree

Martha Sue Dhority-Petree, 82, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home in Sedalia. She was born on February 25, 1941, in Keiser, AR, the daughter of Ollie and Estelle Dhority, who preceded her in death.

In September 2002, in Columbia, MO, she was united in marriage to Eddie Amos Petree, who preceded her in death.

Martha graduated from Vandale High School in Arkansas, where she played basketball. She worked at Town and Country Shoes as a piece manufacturer. However, her favorite employment was Honey Bear Daycare. She enjoyed horseback trail riding, going to craft fairs, and making her own crafts with her daughters. She loved running around with her sister, Anna.

Martha is survived by a son, Terry Dhority; three grandchildren, Stormy (Chris) Dotson, Stafford Dhority, and Kricket Dhority; three great-grandchildren, Drake Dotson, Raden Dotson, and Jayce McKinney; step-daughters, Vickie McFarland, Karen Woodson, Teresa Burnham, Rebecca Lynn, Dorothy Stufflebean, and Gloria Sayers; three sisters, Anna Benitz, Bonnie Eaton, and Pat Curtis, a brother, Kurt Dhority; sister-in-law, Marie Dhority, and several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, and husband, Martha is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Linda Wissman; five sisters, Jewel Delph, Lois Earnhart, Jean Acuff, Molly Davis, and Lucy Swaby; and three brothers, Tom Dhority, Oscar Dhority, and Louis Dhority.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
