Mary E. Durrill, 93, of Windsor, passed away on May 22, 2026, in Westphalia, Missouri. She was born on May 26, 1932, in Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of George Andrew Titsworth Jr and Edith A Harpham Titsworth, who preceded her in death.
On March 21, 1954, in Green Ridge, MO, she was united in marriage to James Durrill, who preceded her in death.
Following their marriage at the First Presbyterian Church in Green Ridge, Missouri, and a memorable honeymoon at Niagara Falls, Mary and James began their life together in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Mary contributed her talents to North Atlantic Constructors at Westover Air Force Base, playing a key role in the construction of Thule Air Base. James, her devoted husband, served with distinction in both the Army and Air Force, earning the honor of being a highly decorated veteran. The couple later settled in Dover, Delaware, where they made their home for 27 years during James's service at Dover Air Force Base. After James's retirement, they returned to Missouri, settling on the Titsworth family farm west of Windsor, where they continued to create cherished memories together.
Mary was a proud graduate of Missouri Valley College, where she earned her Bachelor's degree, and later received her Master's degree from Central Missouri State University. Deeply devoted to her faith and community, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dover, Delaware, where she served as Director of Education and on the board of the Church. Mary's leadership extended beyond the church as President of the Delaware State Business and Professional Women's Association and as West Central District Director of The Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri from 2005 to 2007. As a longtime member of the Windsor Garden Club, she was recognized with numerous State Fair awards for her exceptional flower arrangements and horticultural achievements. Mary was also a proud member of the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a member of the Delaware Governor's Council for Women, where she championed equal rights for women. She was also a devoted member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution, as well as a member of the Windsor Historical Society, and a columnist for the Windsor Review.
Mary was deeply committed to youth development, serving as a dedicated Cub Scout den mother and organizing the Statewide Cub Scout Swimming School. She was also actively involved with the Boy Scouts and generously gave her time as a longtime volunteer with Easterseals, reflecting her lifelong passion for service and helping others.
Mary is survived by her son, Edward Durrill and his wife, Chris of Jefferson City, MO; one grandchild, Emma Durrill of Jefferson City, MO.
