Matthew Lee Burlingame

Matthew Lee Burlingame, 41, of Marshall, MO, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born on April 14, 1985, in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of James Lee Burlingame and Tracy Lea Hieronymus Burlingame, who survive of Longwood, MO.

Matt received certificates of completion from State Fair Community College in Automotive Technology and Refrigeration Technology. He worked as a mechanic for several employers throughout the years, including John Deere in Marshall, Septagon, ACE Heating and Cooling, Cargill in Marshall, and on the family farm, Hieronymus Farms.

Matt was a hands-on person who enjoyed working on anything mechanical. He was gifted with the ability to fix just about anything and had a special love for classic cars. He was well known for buying, selling, and working on classic vehicles. Matt also had a generous heart and was always willing to help someone in need. He would stop what he was doing to lend a hand, and those who knew him knew they could count on him.

Above all, Matt loved his children. He would do anything for them and always placed their needs before his own. His love for his family, his willingness to help others, and his ability to work with his hands will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by four daughters, Zoey Burlingame, Lilly Burlingame, Amelia Seifreit, and Triona Burlingame-Williams; one brother, Shawn Burlingame; one sister, Jamie Butterfield, all of Longwood, MO; his paternal grandmother, Linda Sue Burlingame of Sedalia; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Lillie Hieronymus; and his paternal grandfather, Jack Burlingame.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Tony and Merry Kroeger officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery in Longwood, MO.

Pallbearers will be Isaac Briggs, Josh Butterfield, Jason Chavies, Shawn Burlingame, Sam Hieronymus, Clayton Hieronymus, Caleb Baker, and Dan Hieronymus.

Honorary bearers will be Mike Kroeger, Al Kroeger, and Ben Kroeger.

Memorial contributions may be made to Matt's children in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
