Maurine M. Calder, 91, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, formerly of Sedalia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Addington Place of Lee's Summit. She was born on March 14, 1934, in Danbury, New Hampshire, the daughter of Maurice E. Ford and Martha W. (Granai) Ford, who preceded her in death.
On September 6, 1957, in Bremerton, Washington, she was united in marriage to Thomas D. Calder. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2018.
Maurine dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She retired in 1997 from the Pettis County Health Department, where she served her community with compassion and professionalism. She was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church in Sedalia and was also a longtime member of the Sedalia Country Club.
Maurine and her husband, Tom, shared a love for travel and adventure. Together, they visited all 50 states and traveled across three continents. One of their favorite destinations was Canada, where they explored nearly every province. Maurine was also an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered for the Boston Celtics, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her three sons, Bradford D. Calder and wife, Deborah, of Columbia, Missouri, Scott D. Calder and wife, Deborah, of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and Alex D. Calder and wife, Linda, of Lee's Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Michelle Drum, of Castle Rock, Colorado; four grandchildren, AshLee Calder of Lee's Summit, Meghan Drum of Castle Rock, Colorado, Kio Drum of Kansas City, Missouri, and Zachary Calder of Lee's Summit; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Maurice Ford and wife, Elaine, of Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, Maurine was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Ford.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held. A private family celebration of life will be held in the mountains of New Hampshire.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
