Michele Louise Blankenship, 58, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1962 in Sedalia, the daughter of Kenneth and Fae (Knipp) Hays.
On October 16, 1982 at Memorial Baptist Church in Nelson, MO she was united in marriage to Jeff Blankenship, who survives of the home.
Michele spent most of her early years at the lake and especially liked to fish and go on boat rides. She liked to go camping with her friends, that she considered family. Michele treated and cared for everyone like her own family and was considered to be a "Mom" to many of her employees. She would look forward to game nights with family and friends and was known as the glue of the family. She especially loved to "spoil" her grandchildren. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening and canning, mostly jellies and tomatoes.
Michele is survived by her father, Kenneth Hays (Violet); one son, Kenny Blankenship (Jessica); three grandchildren, Rylee, Garrett, and Kendal; two sisters, Terri McDermott (Mike) and Amy Staus (Lynn); father-in-law, Randall Blankenship; numerous nieces and nephews; and all of the little ones she called family; and her business partner Gary Cornine (Honey).
Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Alma Blankenship; grandparents, Floyd and Spicie Hays, and Frank and Marjorie Knipp; and uncles Jim and Rick Knipp.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel , in Sedalia, MO.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
Honorary bearers will be Kenneth Hays, Randall Blankenship, Kenny Blankenship, Garrett Jones, Rylee Blankenship, and Kendal Blankenship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Defeet.org, in care of the funeral chapel.
