Mindell "Mindy" Kay Reid, 56, of Houstonia, passed away on May 8, 2025, at her home in Houstonia, MO, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on April 29, 1969, in Joplin, MO, the daughter of Udell John Simmers, who resides in Joplin, MO, and Patricia Jeanne (Havens) Snow, who resides in Sapulpa, OK.
On June 21, 2011, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Steve Reid, who resides in the home.
Mindy had a passion for any and all animals. She loved the farm life and devoted much of her time to raising and showing her Lincoln Sheep. She will live on through her examples and her life's lessons, such as courage in the face of adversity and fierce determination, yet with the gentle spirit that defined her. This is the legacy she leaves to those she loved and those who loved her. Until later, sweet lady.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mindy is survived by son, Austin Gibson (Beca); daughter, Courtney March (Jimmy); son, Tyler Reid (Diana); daughter, Stefanie Hannah (David Francis); seven grandchildren, Brady Gibson, Dallas Gibson, Remingtin March, Maverick March, Daniela Reid, Dalila Reid, and Kooper Hannah; a great-granddaughter, Isabella March; her mother-in-law, Betty Jane Reid; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at LifePointe Church, 2921 W. Broadway, Sedalia, with Pastor Chris Traffanstedt officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at LifePointe Church, 2921 W. Broadway, Sedalia.
The burial will be at Houstonia Cemetery, Houstonia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Eric Baro, Tor Sorenson, Lynn Murry, Jr., Jeb Stevens, Robert Long, and Dan Spilde.
Honorary bearers will be Phillys Davidson, Marta Lynch, Sue Traglia, Amanda Thompson, Zu De Anda, and Melanie Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Lincoln Sheep Association in honor of Mindy Reid in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
