IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Lou
Nicholson
February 26, 1938 – February 24, 2026
Patricia Lou "Pat" Nicholson, 87, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born February 26, 1938, in Sedalia, the daughter of Russell Wicker and Mary Anna (Dorsey) Wicker, who preceded her in death.
On December 4, 1981, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Pat was united in marriage to Harrell Lee Nicholson, who preceded her in death on January 4, 2015.
Pat was a graduate of Houstonia High School, Class of 1956, and later furthered her education at Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a teenager, she worked in her parents' grocery store, Wicker Mercantile, in Houstonia. Over the years, Pat served others in a variety of roles, including as a switchboard operator for Sears in Kansas City, and as a receptionist for Drs. Proctor, Hopkins, and Eldenburg. For the last 20 years of her working life, she enjoyed working alongside her daughter at Charlotte's Country Ruffle.
Throughout her life, Pat's heart was evident in the way she loved, animals, children, and most of all, her Lord and Savior. She had a gift for listening, and many found comfort in her steady presence and thoughtful guidance. Pat was also known for her quick wit and her sweet tooth. Always polished and put together, she took pride in her appearance, making sure her hair was just right, lipstick, red glasses, outfit, jewelry, and accessories perfectly matched.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Edwards (Mark) of Sedalia; stepdaughter, Candice Brown (Kip) of Hughesville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Heather Edwards and Sean Edwards; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Vicki Baines and JoAnn Harvey; nieces, Janet and Teresa Kreisel, Linda Holmes; and a cousin, James "Ramie" Wicker.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Ann Kreisel.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
