Richard Ray Reed

Richard Ray Reed, 62, of Warsaw, MO, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 13, 1963, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Everett Woodrow Reed and Betty Dean (Shull) Reed, who both preceded him in death.

Richard was known for his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He owned and operated his own taxi service in Sedalia, where he enjoyed serving his community. In his free time, he liked playing games on his tablet and cellphone, watching movies, and listening to classic hard rock music.

He is survived by his sister, Janice Kurtz of Warsaw; his daughter, Sydney Alexandra Reed Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Peck, and a brother, Vernon Reed.

No formal services are planned. A private family burial of Richard's cremains will take place at a later date at Salt Fork Cemetery in Nelson, MO.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
