Roy E. Paxton Sr.

Roy E. Paxton Sr., 84, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on February 11, 1939, in Sedalia, the son of Alfred F. Paxton and Jewel (Woolery) Paxton, who preceded him in death.

On May 10, 1960, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Glenda Lee Walker, who preceded him in death on December 23, 2016.

Roy worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 27 years and at Tyson Foods for nine years. Roy enjoyed fishing, working around his home, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roy is survived by three sons, Roy Paxton, Jr. (Janice) of Sedalia, Randy Lee Paxton (Jinny) of Hopewell, VA, and Raymond Dean Paxton (Nichole) of Myrtle Beach, SC; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Paxton of Sedalia; and a sister, Helen Brand of Pilot Grove, MO.

Besides his wife and parents, Roy was preceded in death by six brothers, Jimmy Paxton, Robert Milton Paxton, John Thomas Paxton, Paul Edward Paxton, William Alfred Paxton, and David Lee Paxton, and two sisters, Emma Kathrine Davis and Frances Louise Jones.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
