Roy Edward Keele, 92, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 5, 1933, in Sedalia, the son of Roy Leonard Keele and Effie Strong Keele, who preceded him in death.
Roy honorably served his country in the United States Army and the Missouri Army National Guard during the Korean War era. Following his military service, he worked for 35 years as a carpenter and contractor. He was also a member of Sedalia American Legion Post #642.
Roy enjoyed the companionship of his beloved furry friend, Molly. He will be remembered for his years of hard work, his service to his country, and the love he had for his family.
Roy is survived by two sons, Ernie Keele and his wife, Rachel, of Sedalia, and Rickie Keele and his wife, Melody, of Sedalia; one daughter, Linda Casey of Sedalia; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved companion, Molly.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Keele; and three sisters, Helen Zarnowic, Jean Wolfe, and Almeda Wolfe.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army prior to the Celebration of Life service.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
