Russell Ryan Ray

Russell "Rusty" Ryan Ray, 66, of Centerview, MO, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO. He was born on July 31, 1958, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Dale Ray and Mary Beth (Anderson) Ray, who preceded him in death.

On October 21, 1978, at the Church of Christ in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Brenda Dawn Myears, who resides in the home.

Rusty grew up in Green Ridge, Missouri, and proudly graduated from Green Ridge High School in the class of 1976. He was a hardworking and determined man who loved spending time outdoors. Throughout his career, Rusty worked for the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad and later for the Operating Engineers Local 101. In his free time, he enjoyed family-oriented activities and loved to relax on his swing. From there, he could watch his grandkids catch butterflies or play on the tire swing he had put up for them.

To all, Rusty was a good husband, brother, father, grandfather (Pas), and friend.

In addition to his wife, Brenda, Rusty is survived by two children, Tara David (Justin) and Ransom Ray, all of Centerview, MO; three grandchildren, Austin, Ella, and Lincoln; a brother, Randy Ray (Marybeth) of Paris, MO; and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Minister Daryl Parsons officiating.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
