Ruth Earnestine Livengood, 91, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Rest Haven Convalescent Home in Sedalia. She was born on June 13, 1935, in Green Ridge, Missouri, the daughter of Paul Vanoy and Letha (Clevenger) Vanoy, who preceded her in death.

On April 30, 1960, in Warrensburg, MO, she was united in marriage to Charles Livengood, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2017.

Ruth was a proud graduate of Green Ridge High School, Class of 1953. In her early years, she worked at Lamy's Manufacturing. She later devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, mother, and dedicated military wife. Ruth enjoyed traveling across the United States, and one of her favorite places to visit with her family was Branson, especially Silver Dollar City. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and especially enjoyed holidays, family gatherings, and the memories made together.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Russell Livengood and his wife, Teresa, and Ronnie Livengood and his fiancée, Rebekah Deavers, all of Sedalia; one brother, J.B. Vannoy and his wife, Wanda, of Warsaw, MO; one sister, Louise Laabs of New York; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Livengood; one brother, Richard Vannoy; and one sister, Jennette Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery in Green Ridge, MO.

Pallbearers will be Russell Livengood, Ronnie Livengood, J.B. Vannoy, Donald Nelson, John Simpson, and Steve Lynch.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
