Ruth Elaine Russell

Ruth Elaine Russell, 100, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehab.

She was born October 7, 1924, in La Monte, MO, the daughter of Hugh Milton Price and Mary Ruth (Swift) Price, who preceded her in death.

On June 26, 1947, in La Monte, Ruth was united in marriage to the love of her life, Samuel Owen Russell, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2016. Together they shared nearly 69 years of marriage, building a life grounded in faith, family, and community.

Ruth was a proud graduate of La Monte High School, Class of 1942, and went on to attend Sedalia Business College. She devoted many years to serving her hometown, working as a bank teller at La Monte Community Bank for two decades and later at La Monte City Hall. She was a faithful member of the La Monte Christian Church, where her gentle spirit and steadfast faith touched many lives.

She is survived by her son, Larry G. Russell (Dean) of Sedalia, MO; two grandsons, Bradley A. Russell (Nickie) and Jeremy Seth Russell (Elaine); three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; step-grandchildren, Sean Siron, Paul Siron, and Holly Beard; and seven step great-granddaughters. Ruth cherished her family deeply, and her legacy will live on through them.

A private family graveside service and burial will be held at a later date at La Monte Cemetery, La Monte, MO.
