Shane Lee Edwards, aged 51, of Sedalia, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026. A devoted father, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of his community, he leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, quiet strength, and the occasional well-timed remark or smile that could brighten the darkest room or heaviest moment.
Born on January 27, 1975 in Downey, California; Shane grew up with a deep sense of responsibility, strength, and kindness. He attended Smith-Cotton High School excelling in sports; ultimately transferring to Wentworth Military Academy High School. At Wentworth; he continued his education and his role as a star soccer player, but grew as a leader among peers, formed lasting connections and friendships, and developed a thoughtful nature and a steadfast character; graduating apart of Wentworth Military Academy's Class of 1993.
After Highschool, Shane pursued his education at State Fair Community College, continued his love of soccer, started a family, and joined his parents and brothers in the family business at Edwards Fiberglass Inc. He liked to stay busy and dedicated himself to his career path, eventually leading Edwards Fiberglass Inc as its' CEO and President. Through Shane's leadership; he and his brother Shaun led EFI through some challenging times and transformed EFI into a premiere fiber reinforced plastic tank manufacturer with a talented team & staff led by Richard Strohman.
His proudest achievement is his amazing children (Kali and Max). He was exceptionally proud of his children - Kali Edwards and her many achievements; which led her to a career as an emergency room nurse and Max Edwards who has proven to be an outstanding high school football player and car enthusiast.
Shane is survived by: two children, Max Edwards and Kali Edwards (Hunter McCampbell); and grandson Baker McCampbell; his father Bob Edwards; his siblings, Shaun Edwards and Kelly Altis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Edwards; two brothers, Denny Altis and Kerry Altis.
Shane was an avid sports fan. He loved watching and betting on the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved fishing, going on trips to Florida and being on the beach. He loved to travel, but most of all he loved his family dearly.
Shane's life was marked by quiet acts of service and genuine connections. Whether through his involvement in community team sports or business, he consistently demonstrated a commitment to making a positive difference. His friends and family will cherish the memories of shared moments, his steadfast presence, and his brilliant energy; which somehow made an ordinary day feel extraordinary and remarkably complete.
Throughout his life, he remained committed to his values, approaching challenges with patience, subtle wit, and luck that often-left family, friends, and colleagues smiling, proud, and even a bit stunned.
