Stanley Dale Hazelrigg, 94, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his home. He was born May 25, 1931, in Coffins Grove, Iowa, the son of Herbert Herman Hazelrigg and Josephine Susan (Theiss) Hazelrigg, who preceded him in death.
On May 21, 1966, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Steele. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2004.
Stanley proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, serving from 1949 to 1957. He dedicated 36 years to General Motors and retired in January of 1997. Stanley enjoyed western novels, reading his Bible, and, most of all, time spent with family and friends. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Hazelrigg (Judy) of Holden, Missouri, and Jeffery Hazelrigg (Rachel) of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Ricky, MaKayla, and Haven; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alan, John, and Terry Hazelrigg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Stanley was preceded in death by an infant son, Aaron Hazelrigg; and his siblings, Joann Hazelrigg, Rosemary Brookens, Roland Hazelrigg, Raymond Hazelrigg, Darrel Hazelrigg, Duane Hazelrigg, Milton Hazelrigg, and Herbert Hazelrigg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating. In keeping with Stanley's wishes, guests are encouraged to wear casual clothing, because Stanley wanted to be the best-dressed guy there.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will follow at Smithton Cemetery, Smithton, Missouri, with full military honors conducted by the United States Army and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
