Obituary For Stephen B. Rodewald

Stephen B. Rodewald, 79, of Tomball, TX, formerly of Sedalia, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Lawrence Street Health and Rehab in Tomball, TX. He was born on September 21, 1944, in Minneapolis, KS, the son of Eugene A. Rodewald and Julia M. (Bussart) Rodewald, who preceded him in death.

On October 7, 1963, in Clinton, MO, he was united in marriage to Nellie Elizabeth Buchholz, who preceded him in death on September 28, 2021.

Stephen and his wife, Beth, owned and operated the Cafe in Green Ridge early in their marriage. They also owned a NASCAR store and auto detail business in Sedalia. Stephen worked at Hayes Wheels as a Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement. Stephen loved Classic cars and going to car shows. He also enjoyed Houston Astro’s baseball and all sports collectibles.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Rodewald (Angela) of Lees Summit, MO and Chris Rodewald (Sandra) of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Emily Hails(John David), Elizabeth Darby (Brandon), Chaney Rodewald, Taylor Rodewald (Elise), and Trevor Rodewald; six great-grandchildren, Tallon Hails, River Hails, Kingston Darby, Sterling Darby, Ivy Darby, and Boone Rodewald; two brothers, Chuck Rodewald of Warsaw, MO, and Greg Rodewald (Laurie) of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister, Cindy Rodewald-Layton of Sedalia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Rodewald, and a sister, Jackie Leiter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Rodewald, Trevor Rodewald, Zack Layton, Travis Rodewald, Brandon Darby, and John David Hails.

Honorary pallbearers will be Emily Hails, Elizabeth Darby, Chaney Rodewald, Tallon Hails, River Hails, Kingston Darby, Sterling Darby, Ivy Darby, and Boone Rodewald.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Lawrence Street Health and Rehab, 615 Lawrence St. Tomball, TX 77375.
