Stephen Allen Scott

Stephen Allen Scott, 59, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at his home on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born on July 22, 1965, in Sedalia, the son of Clyde Marion Scott and Marian Jean (Stephens) Scott, who preceded him in death.

Stephen was a proud graduate of the Smith-Cotton High School Class of 1984. He lettered in music and was a member of the marching band, serving as the first chair trumpet in the concert band. Stephen worked for the Pettis County Fire Department, where he held the rank of Captain. Additionally, he served as an EMT for the Pettis County Fire District.

As a professional, Stephen made a living as an automotive mechanic and also worked as a salesperson at Firestone in Sedalia. His greatest joy came from riding his motorcycle around the beautiful countryside of Central Missouri. He cherished spending time with his motorcycle friends at events and poker runs.

Survivors include two sons, Richard and Justin Scott; three bonus sons, Keyshawn Williams, Christopher, and Jamie Barnett; a sister, JoAnn Greer (David Mosley) of Sedalia; his companion, Lillie Monteer of the home; niece, Robin Wagenknecht; nephew, Scott Greer; many great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Tyler Heibult officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.

Honorary bearers will be Cary Howerton, Keyshawn Williams, Scott Greer, Jamie Barnett, and Matt Clark.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
