Obituary

Stephen Arnold Wagner, 74, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born on December 29, 1951, in Georgetown, MO, the son of Forrest H. Wagner and Julia (Wallace) Wagner, who preceded him in death.

On February 20, 1982, in Sedalia, MO, Steve was united in marriage to Maura Lynn (Johnson) Daniel, who survives in the home.

Steve worked for many years as an over-the-road truck driver. He later worked in construction alongside his brothers-in-law, Don Clark and Charles "Clem" Hunsaker. Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, and building model cars. He also treasured the time he spent coaching his sons' Little League baseball teams.

In addition to his wife, Lynn, Steve is survived by two sons, John and Robert Daniel; one daughter, Angela Daniel (Joseph "Mark"); one sister, Kathy Wagner; four grandsons, Christopher (Kaylee), Joseph, Max, and William; five granddaughters, Alexa, Samantha (Ed), Natalie, Katelynn, and Sarah (Justin); three great-granddaughters, Cordelia, Kasiana, and Eliana; one great-grandson, Levi; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by three brothers, Patrick Wagner, James Wagner, and one brother in infancy; five sisters, Dorothy Gudenschwager, Margie Opfer, Nancy Barklage, Judy Clark, and Georgia Hunsaker; one niece, Karen; and one nephew, Steven.

At Steve's request, no formal services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
