Teddy Lee Morton Jr.

Teddy Lee Morton, Jr., 83, of Smithton, MO, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his home in Smithton. He was born on August 6, 1939, in Independence, MO, the son of Teddy L. Morton, Sr., and Grace L. Dillee, who preceded him in death.

On December 13, 1980, in Smithton, MO, he was united in marriage to Joanne Kathleen, who preceded him in death on February 7, 2020.

Ted worked as an insurance agent for over 40 years and most recently worked for Town and Country Insurance Co. for the last 20 years. Ted enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, Joanne, family, farming, his classic Mustangs, and convertible MGBs.

Teddy is survived by two children, Terri Morton (John) of Loveland, CO, and Michael Morton (Angela) of Smithton, MO; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Diane Hansen (Robert) of Independence, MO; and a brother, Bobby Morton (Beatrice) of Independence, MO.

Besides his wife and parents, Teddy is preceded in death by a brother, Scotty Morton.

A private graveside service will be held at Smithton Cemetery at a later date.
