Terry G. Couts, 65, of Sedalia passed away February 1, 2022 at Rest Haven Convalescent Home in Sedalia, MO. He was born on April 23, 1956 in Mount Vernon, MO the son of Jackie Dean Couts and Peggy Lou (Naylor) Couts, who preceded him in death.
On April 19, 1997 in Warsaw, MO he was united in marriage to Angela G. Hiller, who preceded him in death on September 13, 2021.
Terry attended Washington Elementary school in Sedalia and graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1974. He joined the United States Army shortly after graduating high school and served as a cannon crewmember, stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, 25th Infantry Division. During his time in Hawaii, he developed a love for surfing and riding motorcycles. After his service in the army, Terry moved to Orlando, Florida, where he worked as a groundskeeper until 1980. Terry moved back to Sedalia and was united in marriage to Angela Parrott in 1997. Terry and Angie lived in Sedalia with their three children Corey, Samantha, and Jack. Terry remained close to his parents and lived near them for many years. Terry had a heart for adventure and loved riding motorcycles and spending time with many friends throughout his life. He held several various jobs over the years, including painting, tree trimming and working for the Parks and Recreation Department. If you had the opportunity to sit and talk to Terry, it is likely that he might have told you many colorful stories about his life and his adventures. Terry loved to spend time with friends and family and loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. His favorite time spent over the years was time spent with them.
Survivors include a daughter, Samantha K (Couts) Smith (Tyrone) of Sedalia; two sons, Corey D Parrott (Tabitha) of Green Ridge, and Jack Couts (Jacquelen) of Holden , MO; four grandchildren, Chandler, Houston, Tristan, and Josie; a sister, Patsy Kays (Don) of Versailles, MO; two nephews, Justin and Jordon Kays; and many cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the United States Army and Sedalia VFW Post #2591.
Honorary bearers will be Gary Naylor, Bobby Naylor, Alan Naylor, Dave Theisen, and Don Kays.
