Terry Joe Roberts

Terry Joe Roberts, 76, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his home in. He was born on February 21, 1949 in Sedalia, the son of Paul Edward Roberts Sr. and Georgetta Marie (Jackson) Roberts, who preceded him in death.

On August 4, 1978 in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Sherry Denise Ricker, who resides in the home.

Mr. Roberts worked for the city of Sedalia for approximately 15 years. He was a self contractor for many years and finally retired from the Missouri state Fairgrounds, where he worked for 20 years. Mr Roberts hobbies included fishing, watching NASCR, working on vehicles, street and hobby stock and amateur racing with his brothers. He also enjoyed going to the creek with family and friends and listening to music and loved his animals.

In addition to his wife Sherry, Terry is survived by two sons, Shawn Roberts (Lori) and Shane Roberts (Katie) and a daughter, Amy Denise Roberts-Barton (Aaron) all of Sedalia; eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Destany, Lyle, Taylor, Kaitlin, Desirea, and Landen Roberts; five great grandchildren; and five sisters, DeLoris Maples, Alice Todd, Charlotte Ramey, Virginia Roberts, and Sue Lynn Roberts; and a brother, Dennis Roberts

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a grandson, Daylon Parish; three brothers, Paul "Smokey" Roberts, Jr., Bobby Jean Roberts, and Byron Leroy Roberts; and sister, Rosalee Ramey.

A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
