Walter Lee Long, 88, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
He was born October 31, 1936, in Sedalia, the son of Walter G. Long and Martha (Pabst) Long, who preceded him in death.
On June 30, 1957, in Sedalia, Walter was united in marriage to Norma Jean Jeffries, who preceded him in death on September 27, 2020.
Walter was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1955. During and after high school, he worked for Cloney's Laundry Service in Sedalia before beginning a 30-year career with Town and Country Shoes, where he was known as a dedicated and hardworking employee. He later worked for the Sedalia #200 School District, Midland Printing, and ultimately retired from Septagon Construction in 2013.
A man of strong faith, Walter was a longtime member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Since 2020, he was a proud member of the Sedalia Moose Lodge #1494, where he enjoyed playing cornhole and sharing fellowship with friends. Walter especially cherished his time spent at his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kristy's farm and the moments he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
