Obituary For William Logan Barlish

William Logan (Bill or Dubby) Barlish, 85, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He was born on August 25, 1937, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Harvey Marion Barlish and Lillian S. Barlish, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Barlish.

Bill is survived by his half-sister Loreita Worley (Jim) from Grove, Oklahoma and half brother Larry Barlish (Bernadine) from Kansas City, MO, nephew Lane Worley (Jana) from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a large extended family in the Sedalia area.

Bill spent his younger years in the Carroll County area and graduated from Stet (Missouri) High School in 1955. After high school graduation, he served in the United States Army Reserves. After serving in the reserves, Bill worked in real estate sales in Jefferson City, Missouri, and was very successful. The photo of Bill in the black suit and hat was taken in his real estate days.

Bill moved back to the Sedalia area in the mid-1970s. He loved reminiscing about old family stories and history, trading and collecting cars, doing ‘road trips’, listening to his radio, and staying up to date with political topics. Bill didn’t shy away from bringing up and debating controversial topics. He had a great sense of humor. Bill loved listening to music-especially Elvis. He was always ready to help someone in need.

Bill was memorable and an important part of our family. Bill had a strong belief in God. Bill was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Bethel United Methodist Church (located southeast of Hughesville, MO.) Pastor Rusty Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the Bethel church at 2:30. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
