William "Bill" Allen Pillars, 67, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on January 11, 1957, in Sedalia, the son of Milo Pillars and Rosemary (Rakers) Pillars, who preceded him in death.
On July 18, 1992, in Sedalia, he married Mary Ruth Hunter, who still lives at home with him.
Bill graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1975. He had successful careers at Sedalia School District #200, Tyson Foods, and Sedalia Conagra Foods Inc. in Marshall, MO, for 20 years before retiring in May 2023. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and camping with his nephews, William and Henry. He loved the outdoors and cherished time spent with family and friends. Bill was a hardworking and kindhearted man.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a sister, Barbara Pillars of Sedalia, and a brother, Larry Joe Pillars, of Marshall, MO; many beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Jackson, and a brother, Robert "Bob" Pillars.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Al Oetman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
The burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Bennie Hunter, Zach Hunter, Jacob Hunter, Mike Geml, Henry Jackson, and William R. Jackson.
Honorary bearers will be Bobby Hunter, Jimmy Hunter, Nathan Gentges, Nick Gentges, Jaden Carter, and William S. Jackson.
